1. Don't ask for quality when buying
Because a few maintenance personnel did not recognize the importance of the air filter, they only wanted to buy it cheaply without seeking quality, so that the engine became abnormal soon after it was installed. Especially when there are many fake and inferior products in the current market, we should shop around, choose carefully, and always adhere to the principle of quality first.
 
2. Dismantle at will during use
The engine must use an air filter, which is scientifically based.
However, some drivers remove the air filter at will, so that the engine directly sucks in unfiltered air to work. Experiments on the removal of the air filter of a truck show that after the air filter is removed, the wear of the engine cylinder will increase by 8 times, the wear of the piston will increase by 3 times, and the wear of the piston ring will increase by 9 times.
 
3. Maintenance and replacement do not proceed from reality
 In the air filter instruction manual, although the mileage or working hours are specified as maintenance or replacement data. But in fact, the maintenance and replacement cycle of the air filter is also related to environmental factors.
For cars that often drive in a dusty environment, the maintenance or replacement cycle of the air filter should be shorter; and for cars in a dusty environment, the maintenance or replacement cycle of the air filter can be sufficient. Properly extend.
In actual work, many drivers and repairers act mechanically according to regulations, instead of flexibly grasping different factors such as the environment, and insist on waiting for the mileage to reach the standard and the engine's working condition is obviously abnormal before performing maintenance. 2. Identification method
 
The working condition of the air filter and when it needs to be maintained or replaced can be identified according to the following methods:
Theoretically, the service life of the air filter and the maintenance interval should be measured by the ratio of the gas flow rate through the filter element to the gas flow rate required by the engine. When the flow rate is greater than the flow rate, the filter works normally; when the flow rate is equal to the flow rate, the filter should be maintained; when the flow rate is less than the flow rate, the filter can no longer be used, otherwise the working condition of the engine will be worse. It’s getting worse and even unable to work.
In actual work, when the filter element of the air cleaner is blocked by suspended particles and cannot meet the air flow required by the engine, the engine working state will appear abnormal, such as the roaring sound and the acceleration is slow (the air intake is insufficient and the air flow is insufficient. Cylinder pressure is not enough), work is weak (combustion is incomplete due to the mixture being too rich), the water temperature rises relatively (combustion continues when entering the exhaust stroke), and the exhaust smoke becomes thicker when accelerating. When these symptoms appear, it can be judged that the air filter is clogged, and the filter element should be removed in time for maintenance or replacement.
When maintaining the air filter element, pay attention to the changes in the inner and outer surface color of the filter element. After the dust is removed, if the outer surface of the filter paper is clear and the inner surface is bright, the filter element can continue to be used; if the outer surface of the filter paper has lost its original color or the inner surface is dark, it must be replaced.
